Austin, Texas, April 19, 2016: Kyrish Truck Centers is pleased to announce the upcoming 40th anniversary of its first dealership, which opened in Austin, Texas. Ed Kyrish purchased the Austin International Harvester branch in 1976, which has since become Longhorn International. As they celebrate their 40th year of business, Kyrish Truck Centers have grown to include 11 truck dealerships, seven Idealease locations, three school bus dealerships and one government group.
The celebration will take place this summer 2016, at the Austin location (4711 East 7th Street). The complete details of the event will be announced in the upcoming months, on their website.
In 1950, Ed Kyrish started out as an accounting clerk with International Harvester. By 1976, he had purchased the Austin International branch through working with the DealCor program. In 1982, he opened the Santex Truck Center in San Antonio, Texas, and just five years later, the Olympic International branch was opened in Houston. In 1990, Kyrish opened his first Longhorn Bus Sales facility. Finally, in 2006, the Longhorn Regional Service Center became the state-wide service you know today, tailored to medium and heavy-duty truck services.
