iiCON is an outstanding general contractor. El Paso County has more people than any other County in Colorado.

iiCON Construction Group (iiCON), a Colorado Springs based Commercial General Contractor, announced that they have completed renovations at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. The project included replacing 57,000 square feet of roofing and renovation of the 9000 square foot kitchen—both of which had been damaged in the torrential rains during the Spring of 2015.

The Criminal Justice Center, which is located in Colorado Springs, is a secure facility which meant the iiCON staff and all subcontractors were required to pass background checks in accordance with the Sheriff’s department. Following the rains, the County was renting a temporary kitchen to serve the existing inmates. It was critical to expedite the construction effort to the save the County further expense. iiCON Construction Group was awarded the project because of their commitment to have the kitchen open within 30 days, which they did. Additionally, the facility was fully occupied during the project which meant removal and replacement of the roof for each area had to be completed the same day throughout the project.

“iiCON is an outstanding general contractor. El Paso County has more people than any other County in Colorado. Our Criminal Justice Center is a 24/7 operation and the facility is a critical and vital asset here. iiCON performed this work well. [So well] the Sheriff presented iiCON’s leadership with Coins of Excellence–unheard of recognition,” said David Schnabel, Facilities Maintenance Manager for the Criminal Justice Center.

Greg Collier, President of iiCON Construction Group said, “We are privileged to have worked with El Paso County, as principals, for multiple complex renovation and addition projects over the years and appreciate the opportunity to work with a great team on this successful project”
