The one-day, private excursion workshop will be held at Volcanoes National Park and will consist of a hiking trip to capture images of the red-hot, molten lava. If conditions are favorable, guests will have the opportunity to photograph lava from the Kilauea Volcano as it flows into the ocean. After spending time taking photos, guests and their guide will venture across the lava field to find a number of lava surface breakouts.
The photography workshop is offered to both beginner and seasoned photographers under the direction of expert guide, Warren Fintz. Not only does he have extensive knowledge about lava photography, but Fintz has also personally spent an abundance of time familiarizing himself with the Kalapana’s lava field. This perspective gives him special insight when guiding others in photographing the island and its beautiful, iconic features.
