First Coast Women’s Services is pleased to announce they are continuing to provide support services to women throughout the Jacksonville area. However, these services have undergone some changes due to the current Covid-19 situation.
The center located in Mandarin continues to operate for in-person client meetings and has continued to see an increasing number of clients for pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. The center is following strict guidelines to ensure the health and safety of both the employees and the clients. This includes wearing personal protection equipment, seeing only one client at a time and pre-screening individuals before they enter the facility. It’s important to First Coast Women’s Services to provide both physical and emotional support to women who may be unexpectedly pregnant during this difficult time.
All other locations for First Coast Women’s Services are handling phone calls only at this time, providing counseling services over the phone that include prayer when requested. They are also sending out virtual lessons to clients who request them. These lessons discuss topics, such as dealing with the second and third trimester of pregnancy, handling the emotions of pregnancy, breastfeeding advice and tips and how to avoid child abuse. Diapers, wipes and other supplies have also been distributed through First Coast Women’s Services to those who need them.
Anyone who would like information on making an in-person appointment or the other services still provided can find out more by visiting the First Coast Women’s Services website or by calling 1-904-262-6300.
