Strauss Diamond Instruments is proud to introduce the MagiCalibrator. This is an intraoral device made of silicon featuring an embedded stainless steel ring that is 10 mm in size and can be placed in the FOV when capturing 2D X-rays.
In the actual X-ray image, the ring looks like an opaque body of a certain length, which helps facilitate the calibration function of the various radiographic software used. When properly calibrated, it’s possible to find any distance between two points on the X-ray with superior accuracy. The tool is especially beneficial when planning the placement of dental implants.
When the radiograph has been properly calibrated, it allows the accurate measurement of the distance between the vital structures to the crest of the bone. It’s also possible to calculate the amount of space present between existing teeth, which allows for creation of the right size of implant.
