It’s one of the most exciting times of the year for those of us committed to the yachting scene. The Cannes In-Water Boat Show is among the world’s largest, featuring over 500 boats of various size and intended purposes, across all range of manufacturers.
This enormous production is considered a must-see for yachtsman of any note. It was with little surprise, then, that the management team from Luxury Boat Syndicates team was in attendance. Ian Rose and Co, who have brought Sydney’s finest yacht syndicates to New South Wales, spent several days sizing up potential additions to their already-impressive fleet.
Standing, or rather floating tall, were the Absolute lineup of Italian yachts, already members of the LBS syndicate in Point Piper and The Spit. They needed little introduction – as members of one of the most trusted and respected names in Mediterranean yachting, Absolute attracted quite the crowd.
Chris Craft, among the oldest names in American yachting, was also present, and brought with them their vaunted new Commander 42. Mixing elegance and performance, as only Chris Craft can, this yacht was perhaps the cherry of the show. It’s sheer sweep and high freeboard of this cabin cruiser makes it among the more versatile offerings from this builder of late.
Lastly, the team at Luxury Boat Syndicates took a good, hard look at the new Frauscher 1417 Demon, an Austrian build, and a stunning one, at that. Modelled after Italian and German sports cars, the Frauscher has the performance to match its pedigree.
It was a fantastic week at arguably the world’s premiere boat show, and yachtsman all over the world have taken note of what was presented here. Odds are, some of the stunning new designs will be given new berths in days to come, quite possibly right in our backyard.
