Sales Center Features Gaming-Style Virtual Reality so Buyers Can Virtually Walk Through and Experience Vitre Residences

Sales have begun at Vitre, a 21-story, 48-residence new condominium with a charcoal metal and glass façade that is the first to launch sales along the new Second Avenue subway line since it opened. Located at 302 East 96th Street, the building will feature one- to three-bedroom homes, many with libraries for additional flexibility and private outdoor space.

The sales gallery, located at 1776 Second Avenue, features one of the first HTC Vive-enabled virtual reality experiences for an under-construction real estate development. Created with Real Estate Arts, the Vitre virtual reality experience utilizes Vive’s room-scale technology and in-wall sensor systems to welcome users inside the building before completion. Prospective buyers can, through the virtual reality experience, stand on the street outside the building, walk into the lobby and through homes, open doors, turn on lights, step out onto terraces, and experience views.

Embracing additional technological amenities that personalize services to residents’ desires on-demand, developer WWML96, LLC has teamed with Hello Alfred to bring residents butler-style services such as handling weekly errands; tidy-up services including bed-making and garbage removal; dry-cleaning pickup; grocery shopping; home cleaning; event planning; lifestyle reservations; personal organization and more. Residents will have a personally assigned Alfred who visits in-person weekly.

Designed by Fischer + Makooi Architects PLLC, with interiors by Elianart, the 48 one- to three-bedroom residences include a penthouse collection of half- and full-floor homes. Pricing for the initial release of select residences ranges from $915,000 to $4.29 million. Occupancy is expected for late summer 2018.

“Vitre is redefining modern architecture and living on the Upper East Side,” said Eric Brody, Chief Operating Officer of Wonder Works Development Group, which is part of the development team. “Its sophisticated, European-inspired design and exceptional glass façade are rare on the Upper East Side, and we think buyers are ready for the contemporary lifestyle Vitre has created.”

Stephen G. Kliegerman, president of Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing, which is handling exclusive marketing and sales, added, “With prices starting under $1 million, Vitre is responding to a need in the market for high-quality, high-design residences at a price point not previously available at Upper East Side new development. We believe this, paired with its flexible layouts, relevant amenities and an ideal location steps from the new Second Avenue subway, will be a huge draw for buyers looking for accessible luxury.”

Residents will enter Vitre through an expansive, two-story lobby featuring a floor-to-ceiling kiln-formed glass art wall, terrazzo tile flooring and warm-hued fabric and leather furnishings.

The residences at Vitre incorporate the finest in modern interior design, with high performance floor-to-ceiling windows and smoked European white oak flooring throughout. The bedrooms will offer Italian-designed matte lacquer wardrobes by Alta finished with inlaid leather accents.

The kitchens feature custom cabinetry in a wire-brushed oak paneling with contrasting white lacquer upper cabinets and a stunning Carrara marble slab backsplash. The state-of-the-art appliances include Bertazzoni cooktops and ovens and fully-paneled Blomberg refrigerators. Select residences will also offer a white Carrara marble island with waterfall edge and a 45-bottle under-counter Marvel wine refrigerator.

Spa-like master baths will offer European-crafted porcelain tile floors and walls complemented by a contrasting porcelain tile accent wall. Bathtubs will be solid surface soaking tubs. Frameless floor-to-ceiling glass showers will feature crisp polished chrome hardware and will have a rain shower head as well as a hand-held shower head and thermostatic controls. Floating mirrors with LED illumination will be mounted above custom-made solid surface countertops and high-gloss white-lacquer cabinets.

Second and third bathrooms, where applicable, will feature Porcelanosa tiling with custom solid surface vanities.

Additional amenities include a 24-hour lobby attendant; residents lounge with outdoor patio, bicycle storage and a rooftop sun deck with East River and city views. Private on-site parking is available for purchase.
