Yellowstone Landscape recently took the time to share their wisdom and managerial expertise with that of a young intern, Alex. This experience offered Alex, a senior majoring in Business Management at the University of Central Florida, an opportunity to learn hands-on professional management skills.
During his time interning with Yellowstone Landscape, Alex was given a chance to polish his leadership and managerial training. He was mentored by both Senior Account Manager, Ryan Smith, and Branch Manager, Brian Wetherby. During this time, the team at Yellowstone took Alex under their wing to teach him important skills, such as organization, leadership, and problem-solving. These tools will be invaluable as he follows his future career path.
To further aid Alex in learning how to take on business management, his mentors gave him an intern project. It was up to Alex and a two-man crew to handle the trimming of 375 Medjool palms. As the overseer of the project, his job was to not only ensure it was completed correctly and in a timely fashion but to take on the safety and productivity of the job. Faced with real-time problems, Alex was able to adapt the skills he’d been taught by his mentors to successfully complete his project, which is the first step in becoming a member of the Yellowstone Landscape team.
